United by Judge Bill Littlejohn at the North River Coffee House & Eatery, Marcella, LaTonya, Valerie and Kaye planned a celebration for Black History
Month. By the time our meeting adjourned, we decided to pool our resources and the
Soul of the Pen Book Tour was created. In May 2007, the
tour was expanded to include Gail and Dorinda.

Starting in Dayton, Ohio, the tour consists of readings, chats with readers and aspiring authors, gift drawings and book signings.

Our desire is to have a positive impact on our community through the written word. We are committed to providing readers with books that encourage
and inspire. Whether it’s encouraging interaction between parents and children, addressing the unique demands of stepfamilies or understanding the
impact of our words and actions, we want to help children and their families flourish.
Marcella Norton Williams-Ashe has written and published three books through her company, Allecram Publishing. Her first book, When
the Red Brick Road Turned Yellow
, is a poetic look at the ominous presence of life and death. Marcella’s second publishing venture
was
Granny Says. Compelled by God, she penned this children’s book to teach the ABCs from a biblical perspective. Her intent was to
create a positive reading experience for both the parent and child. Scheduled for release February 2007,
Hog Bottom Days is Allecram
Publishing’s second poetic endeavor. In this book, Marcella reflects on her humble beginnings and how she learned that living without
can bring out the best from within.
Having retired from Delphi Automotive as an ergonomics trainer and facilitator, Marcella now resides in Dayton, Ohio with her husband.

Granny Says
A delightful Bible-based children’s book, Granny Says offers alphabetized stories with Scripture references for children up to seven
years old. The wonderful photographs and colorful illustrations reinforce the words of wisdom that instruct children God’s ways.
Excerpt:
L is for Love – Jesus loved the little children. Jesus blessed the children too. Mark 10:13-16

Dr. Kaye Manson Jeter crafted, Teacher Teacher, What Does Your Garden Grow?, as a result of more than thirty-eight years as an
educator. Her book, which released February 2007, provides techniques to establish the perfect classroom by comparing teaching to
gardening.
In her service as dean of the College of Education, she reformed the teacher education program. She helped minority candidates meet
the requirements for the national certification test. Dr. Jeter also developed and implemented the Know More Learning System: a
holistic approach to passing standardized tests.
Dr. Jeter obtained doctorate degrees in law and education. She serves as special assistant to the president and executive director of
the Institute of Urban Education at Central State University. She lives in Dayton, Ohio.

Teacher, Teacher, What Does Your Garden Grow?
Teacher, Teacher, What Does Your Garden Grow? was written by an educator for educators. The first in a series by Kaye Manson Jeter,
PhD, the book provides techniques to establish the perfect classroom. Using subtle nuances and blatant approaches, Jeter
establishes the mindset that a teacher is a gardener. She applies the laws of cultivating and farming — ground preparation, seeding
and pruning — to the classroom to reap a bountiful harvest. This collection of thoughts, sayings, and ideas will make the classroom
experience more enriching for students and teachers.
Teacher, Teacher is also a wonderful resource for parents or any one that
teaches and trains.
