Since his discovery at the 1993 Gospel Music Workshop of America, Pastor Charles Woolfork has been a part of the landscape of Gospel music. He has seven national music releases to his credit and is working on his eighth project, Ascension.
From his early days in worship ministry to his licensing and ordination by Bishop C. Vernie Russell, Jr. of Norfolk, Virginia in 2003, Pastor Charles Woolfork has had a love for both music and Word ministry. “If you want to be complete in one you need to respect and love the other. They work well when the vessel is anointed to do both.”
His unique vocals and musical prowess opened doors for him to minister with Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams and Tye Tribbett, while his revelation of the Word poised him as a featured speaker at Bishop T. D. Jakes’ Megafest.
While employed at The Word Church in Cleveland, Ohio under the leadership of Pastor R.A. Vernon, Woolfork wrote songs and sang on the church’s historic first worship release, Worship at the Word including the title singles We Bless Your Name, Have Your Way and Blessing Behind Closed Doors.
In addition to minister of music, he has served as worship leader, Bible-study teacher, associate, administrative and senior pastor. His commitment to ministry extends beyond the church. In 2003, he founded Abstinence in Action; a vibrant youth ministry focused on HIV/AIDS awareness and training. Woolfork established and shepherds Covenant Outreach Ministries in Columbus, Ohio. This financial stewardship ministry preps youth and adults for fiscal security in credit, investments and home ownership. He is also the developmental services director for the multi-million-dollar Miracit Development Corporation which specializes in building green-technology housing.
The multi-talented Pastor Woolfork has acted in numerous stage productions including David Talbert’s Mr. Right Now and A Fool and His Money. Added to his list of accomplishments as writer, producer and preacher, NuthinButGospel.com referred to Pastor Charles Woolfork as “the prince of the praise party.”
Pastor Woolfork has a doctorate in divinity from Christian Bible Institute of Houston, Texas.
