POWER Awards

Pen of the Writer is committed to recognizing Christian and inspirational authors and artists for
their contribution to the arts and entertainment industry. The POWER Awards will provide
independently released titles with increased online and print exposure. We are accepting entries
in five literary categories: fiction, nonfiction, anthology, children's books and poetry; and five
music categories: praise and worship, hip-hop / rap, traditional, contemporary and spoken word.

Independent labels and self-publishers who produce books or CDs for the North American
market are eligible to enter titles released in 2007 or 2008 (verified by copyright date). Judging
is based on online votes from August 15 through September 15. In the event of a tie, POWER
reviewers will select the winner based on cover design, excellence and overall quality. Winners
and runner-ups in each category receive a framed certificate, year-long promotion on the Pen
of the Writer website, acknowledgement in the Praise Reporter magazine and gold or silver
seals for their covers.

Submission Guidelines
The entry fee is $50 per title per category. For example, submitting a title as fiction and
anthology counts as two categories for an entry fee of $100. Pay online by category

submissions will not be considered or returned.

Winners will be announced at the A uthor and Artist Showcase during the
Fifth Annual Pen to Paper Literary Symposium.
